The bus service is non stop (except toilet and lunch beak) and you must make an early booking. You can book a ticket by phone / email or though any travel agency in Kathmandu, Pokhara or Chitwan (Sauraha) and pay during your journey time. Book a ticket at least a day before journey and a week before if you are traveling during Nepalese festival season or other holidays like Christmas, New Year etc.
All the buses listed below provide daily service from Kathmandu to Chitwan and vice-versa, and very few buses provide service for Pokhara to Chitwan and vice-versa. The minimum charges are below:
Kathmandu - Chitwan: Leaves from Kantipath, Kathmandu at 7:00 am and charge is NRS 600 per person
Chitwan - Kathmandu: Leaves from Tourist bus park, Sauraha at 8:00 am and charge is NRS 600 per person
Pokhara - Chitwan: Leaves from Tourist bus park, Pokhara at 7:30 am and charge is NRS 600 per person
Chitwan - Pokhara: Leaves from Tourist bus park, Sauraha at 8:00 am and charge is NRS 600 per person
Above mentioned charges are minimum charges. Charges may vary depending upon the services provided by the buses like: Wi-fi, Meal, Lunch, AC, Newspaper, Water bottles etc. Traveling time for Kathmandu to Chitwan is 6-7 hrs and Pokhara to Chitwan is 5-6 hrs. Road Construction, Maintenance, Strikes etc. may occur changes in arrival, departure location and time. So we strongly recommend travelers to get following details from Travel Agency or bus service:
- Name of the bus.
- Departure location.
- Departure time.
- Arrival Location.
- Estimated arrival time.
- Price in Nrs or Dollar.
